FAQ

Where and what is Rat Park?

Rat Park is a rugby stadium located on Pittwater Road in Warriewood. It can hold 6000 people and has a stand for 1300 people. There is parking for 1500 cars on site. It isn't far from the Centro Shopping Centre at Warriewood. Click here for a map.

How do I access Rat Park from Pittwater Road.

Access from Pittwater Road when heading South is easy; you just turn left into Rat Park. However, when heading North there are few right turns. You have to turn before you get to the site. Turn right at Lane Park Road. Then you have to turn left at the bottom of that road following it around and then shortly thereafter left into Parakula. Then right into Collins Street and right again into Walsh Street. You can then turn immediately left into Rat Park. We expect to put signs up.

How do I get there?

Lots of buses run to Rat Park. If you want a link to the trains you have to get to Gordon Station where buses run over to Mona Vale. Its a 15 minute walk south from Mona Vale to Rat Park down Pittwater Road or you can jump on just about any bus heading in that direction.

Preparing for the event

  • Remember to bring ID, your ticket or phone if you have an sms ticket, important phone numbers, sun screen, phone, pen, vitamins & still camera if you want plus enough cash for the day. If you have any chronic conditions or illness (ie epilepsy, diabetes, asthma) be sure to carry information regarding your condition and emergency contact number on your person at all times. Making a list isn't a bad idea.
  • Allow enough time to get to & into the festival. Presume around 30 minutes to get through the security gates & security checks depending on the time of day.
  • Dress for the day & weather. Wear sensible shoes & clothes and bring a rain coat if needed. Avoid wearing jewellery that could potentially harm yourself or others.
  • Bringing a bag or pack is handy but remember that it will take longer to get into the show as all bags have to be inspected..
  • You cannot bring drinks or food into the festival, but you can bring items for babies..
  • Anyone caught holding or dealing illegal substances will be treated the same way as anywhere else.
  • Don't turn up drunk as you may be refused entry or pass out before you see any of the bands you paid to see.
  • If you intend to meet up with your friends outside the show choose a specific spot and time especially if they have your ticket.
  • Alcohol & other restricted items can not be brought onsite so you will need to get rid of them or take it back home or to your car.
  • Try to have a good breakfast and keep patient and calm. It will be a long and hopefully fantastic day.

Once you are inside

It is important to plan your day. Obviously the priority is making sure you get to see the acts that mean the most to you so get one of the run sheets or go to each stage and see the run sheet that will be displayed there. Don't forget the basics:
  • If you are with friends and intend to travel home together arrange a place and time to meet up at the end of the night.
  • Large crowds, a long day and hot weather in combination will tire you out. Make sure you pace yourself, drink plenty of water, eat some food that will give you some energy and minimize sun exposure.
  • Music festivals are noisy. You can get ear plugs from the First Aid Room.
  • Excessive use of mind altering substances of any kind including alcohol can result in the day changing from fantastic to a nightmare in a very short amount of time. Do not forget you need to get home after the show and an ambulance is not the best or cheapest way to do so. Do not be afraid to tell us if something is going wrong, we only want to help you, not judge you.
